Our Operations

Emergency medicine constitutes a central and extensive part of healthcare. Our department consists of two sections; emergency medicine and ambulance care. The emergency medicine section comprises the emergency department. Good, appropriate, high-quality, specialist-driven emergency care for all patients, regardless of the reason for seeking care, is our goal. We strive to be a health-promoting workplace with good leadership and flexible working methods, and therefore work continuously with education and development. Here, you have close access to specialist knowledge, research, education, and around 40 dedicated emergency medicine colleagues.

Our University Hospital is a Level 1 trauma center. The adult emergency department sees approximately 52,000 patients annually with a lower age limit of 15 years, but also has responsibility for younger children with potentially life-threatening conditions.

Within the department, we conduct research, basic and specialist training for nurses and doctors at all stages of their careers. We carry out multiprofessional and innovative development with national and international collaboration partners, as well as quality and patient safety work with a focus on proactive operational development. We are now connected to the Swedish Emergency Care Register (SVAR) and have a major focus on competence development in point-of-care ultrasound.

Your Role

The work in emergency medicine runs around the clock, and you will therefore have varying working hours. As an employee at the University Hospital, it is included to participate in education and supervision. The position includes clinical work at the adult emergency department and the pediatric emergency department (surgery/orthopedics) as we also staff the pediatric emergency surgery/orthopedics.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed physician with interest and experience in emergency medicine. You have a strong interest in education and medical development work within the department.

We are looking for an engaged and driven colleague with the ability to inspire change and development. You are receptive, humble, and have good judgment, create a good work climate for yourself and your colleagues, are accustomed to solving problems, are responsible, structured, and flexible, and have the ability to communicate your clinical assessments and decisions. You want to contribute to the joint development of emergency medicine and work with the patient's best interest in focus. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

What We Offer

We offer a fixed-term full-time position for 6 months with a possible opportunity for extension, as well as a specialist training (ST) position. Start date by agreement. Before appointment, extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal records will be obtained, along with license verification, IVO notification check, and your references.
