As the Head of the Forecast Unit at the International and Economic Department, we invite you to embrace the three roles that leadership in the Government Offices entails. You will have the opportunity to lead employees, act as the operational representative, and serve as the employer representative with the goal of continuing to develop the agency's ability to be an effective and competent instrument for the government in its mission to steer the country and realize its policies. You will develop the operations towards set goals and are responsible for organizing and planning the work within the unit, as well as managing the unit's budget. In your role as a leader, you will represent the operations in various contexts, both internally and externally, and it is important that you act as a good representative of the agency at all times.
The International and Economic Department consists of four units. As the Head of Unit, you will be part of the department's management group.
The Forecast Unit is responsible for the government's macroeconomic and public finance forecasts, as well as the department's secretariat function. The forecasting work includes continuous monitoring and analysis of the Swedish and international economic development, as well as producing materials for political leadership. The work also involves maintaining and developing methods and models. The unit participates in international cooperation and discussions with other Swedish forecasters and institutions.
The unit operates in a dynamic and often changing context where assignments, priorities, and requirements can shift quickly. This places high demands on the ability to create structure in complexity and to lead operations through both planned and unexpected changes. As Head of Unit, you are expected to take a holistic approach to change work that requires both strategic height and operational presence. You lead the work with trust and create engagement. The unit currently consists of approximately 20 employees whom you lead, motivate, inspire, and develop in daily work.

Your background
We are looking for you who have an academic education, preferably in economics, combined with current and relevant work experience in leading others, for example as a manager, deputy manager, or project leader. You also have current and relevant experience in economic-political forecasting work. Furthermore, you have experience in a role as an operational representative.
It is meritorious to have leadership experience with personnel responsibility and leadership experience from a similar work area. It is also meritorious to have experience working in the Government Offices, a good understanding of what it is like to work in a politically directed organization, and experience in change management.

As a leader, you have a holistic view and communicate overarching goals, involve others early, and promote collaboration for unified leadership. You drive the development of operations and the work environment, lead change with courage, and encourage learning and initiatives for development, while simultaneously developing your own competence and leadership. You focus on results by prioritizing, making decisions, and showing trust in employees' competence by supporting and coaching, as well as handling problems in a timely manner. You are a goal- and results-oriented leader with strategic thinking. You collaborate, have personal maturity, integrity, and good judgment. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Other
The position is a permanent appointment as a Ministerial Counsellor with a time-limited appointment as Head of Unit for five years, with the possibility of extension. The employment is covered by the executive agreement.
The position is security-classified, and a security investigation with register check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made. You must be a Swedish citizen, but may have a foreign background. The position is located in Stockholm.
