Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that impact people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion SEK annually. These are everyone's tax funds we manage, which is a significant responsibility. Therefore, we delve into every case, follow laws and regulations, inform and guide, care, and show consideration. This is a job for you if you want to take responsibility. Welcome to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
To steer, monitor, and develop our operations, access to reliable data, analysis, statistics, and decision support is required. We are now building the next generation of analytical and decision-support capabilities. We are therefore looking for a Unit Manager for the newly established Unit for Steering and Product Management within the Decision Support area (LAEB).
You will have the opportunity to help build a central capability that will shape future analytical, statistical, and decision-support deliveries at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
The role involves significant influence, high strategic visibility, and the ability to influence how operations, data, and IT collaborate to create value for the entire agency.
Product Management, Portfolio Management, Transformation
As a Unit Manager, you are the leader closest to the employees and the operations. You are responsible for leading and driving daily work based on the department's mission and goals, where the public sector's values permeate your work. Through your leadership, you communicate clear expectations, monitor goals, and provide your employees with the right conditions to take responsibility. You have personnel responsibility as well as result and follow-up responsibility for the teams in your unit.
Your unit consists of approximately 7 employees and is primarily located in Stockholm. As Unit Manager, you are responsible for building and developing a unit with competencies in product management, portfolio management, prioritization, and development control. The unit's mission is to create conditions for a coherent inflow, clear prioritizations, and efficient delivery of analysis, statistics, data products, and decision support to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's operations.
You lead not only a line organization. You are also responsible for developing the competencies, roles, and ways of working that staff and support our virtual delivery organization.
Through close leadership, you create the predictability, security, and sustainability necessary for employees to take responsibility and meet the need for change. You create understanding of context, direction, and the target images set by the department, and develop the plans your operations need. You adapt and exercise your leadership in a way that creates conditions for employees to use their judgment and competence. The role involves driving, together with the Area Manager and other managers, the shift towards a more product-oriented, data-driven, and value-focused way of working where operations, analysis, and IT work towards common goals. You report to the Area Manager and are part of the area's management group.
The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you, who will work with us, have a high level of security awareness.
