Your Assignment
The Signals Intelligence Division at FRA is now seeking a Deputy Unit Manager within the area of Russian military capability. The division works with processing and analyzing collected material in order to report unique and highly requested intelligence to our clients.
As Deputy Unit Manager, your main task is to support the Unit Manager in implementing the unit's operational goals regarding production, as well as contacts with our national clients and international cooperation partners.
As Deputy Unit Manager, you are the link between the clients' intelligence needs and our production, and you support the Unit Manager in their responsibility to, among other things, develop production plans and production goals for both the short and long term. This includes noting feedback from clients, changes in needs, and identifying factors that could lead to future production. You also support the Unit Manager in the approval process of intelligence reports to clients.
The assignment also includes close cooperation with other parts of the agency, especially regarding collaboration on technical solutions needed to achieve the unit's operational goals.
The nature of the position involves trust-based working hours, and domestic and international travel may occur.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- An academic degree in fields such as political science, law, military science, economics, engineering, or another relevant area, and/or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience.
- Previous experience in a leading/coordinating role or position.
- Experience from working in intelligence or security services.
- Experience working with intelligence production.
- Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
- Good computer skills.
We consider it meritorious if you have:
- Experience having worked in a leadership position.
- Experience from the defense sector.
- Knowledge in radio, telecommunications, and/or a basic understanding of technology.
- Previous experience in intelligence activities.
- Competence and/or interest in military issues.

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, approx. 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security classification. Before employment, you will undergo a security check in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed.
