About the Role

Do you want to make a real difference to help Sweden succeed in the energy transition and meet climate goals? We are making significant investments in our grid and are now looking for Power Systems Engineers with expertise in control systems for our projects.

We are undergoing a historic transition and facing extensive electrification of society. One way we are addressing this is by expanding our investments in our electricity grid. To do this, we need more engaged employees within the Infrastructure Investment unit who work on our investment projects in local and regional grids.

About the Role

As a Power System Specialist in Control Systems with us, we promise that you will be challenged with exciting and complex issues. The Project Technology department is responsible for ensuring technical content in the planning and implementation of infrastructure investments and delivers specialist infrastructure technology competence to the business. With technology in focus, we are involved in work that develops practical solutions to technical challenges in operations, development, and infrastructure construction.

Your main responsibility will be to provide specialist competence to the investment activities, which means acting as a technical resource in our projects. Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the quality of new installations and that the infrastructure design is optimal.
  • Participating in tender evaluations regarding the station's technical functions.
  • Reviewing technical designs and checking layouts during factory acceptance tests.
  • Acting as the responsible representative during commissioning tests and commissioning, ensuring the installation meets the requirements of the technical specification and Vattenfall's Technical Guidelines.
  • Collaborating with other departments within the Infrastructure Investment unit.

Travel to nearby projects occurs, as well as occasional travel abroad.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who thrives in a role where you can use your analytical skills and collaborate with others. You are driven by curiosity and want to continuously learn more about technology and how it can be used in the best possible way to provide strong technical support in projects.

Qualifications

You have

  • An engineering degree in power system technology or equivalent competence gained through work experience.
  • Experience working with a variety of power system issues and familiarity with the structure and function of the electricity grid, preferably with a focus on fault disconnection and control equipment systems.
  • Ability to express yourself clearly in both speech and writing in Swedish and English.
  • A valid driver's license (Class B).

It is meritorious if you have experience with

  • Testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of substation equipment such as primary apparatus and control systems.
