At Saab Dynamics, we are now looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer who wants to work with complex, safety-critical products where quality, robust design, and technical judgment are at the center.

Your Role

In the role of Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you work with software development within the business area Missile Systems, with clear responsibility for technical decisions, software architecture, and quality throughout the entire development cycle.

You actively participate in requirements specification, design, implementation, and testing, and are expected to contribute experience and structure to both technical discussions and the team's working methods. Design is a central part of our process - solutions are developed, documented, and reviewed before implementation, ensuring long-term sustainability, high quality, and robust systems.

You work in a team of 6-8 people according to agile principles, where collaboration, transparency, and shared responsibility are key factors. As a senior, you are also expected to function as technical support and mentor for less experienced colleagues.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Requirements specification, design, implementation, and testing of software for advanced embedded systems
• Technical responsibility for software design and architecture within subsystems
• Review of design and code, and support in technical decisions
• Programming close to hardware in C/C++
• Development in Linux-based development environments
• Testing, debugging, and verification on the target platform
• Contribute to and drive improvements in development processes, CI flows, and code quality

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have

• Several years of experience in embedded or hardware-close software development
• Very good knowledge of C/C++
• Experience with Linux-based development environments and toolchains
• Good familiarity with design work, technical reviews, and architectural decisions
• Experience with testing, CI/CD, version control, and quality-driven development
• Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly in Swedish and English
