What do you work for?

You will be working with us at the Building and Environment Administration, where we handle building permits, coastal protection, housing adaptations, supervision according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL), GIS and geodata, environmental and health protection, and food control.

Your workplace will be at the municipal office, located just a stone's throw from the Pågatåg station in Bjuv.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will work as a case manager for building permits and building notifications, as well as supervision cases under the Planning and Building Act. You will also handle cases regarding housing adaptation grants. Additionally, you will work with administrative issues related to the building permit process. As a case manager, you will make independent decisions in accordance with the current delegation order and prepare and present cases for decision-making in the Building and Environment Committee.

The distribution between case management and administrative tasks may vary over time, but the starting point is 75% case management and 25% administration. Since Bjuv is a small municipality, you will also likely assist with other issues the administration works with. A key part of your assignment is to inform about the building permit process and answer questions from the public.

As a building permit case manager, close collaboration is required with colleagues in the administration, other municipal officials, politicians, citizens, consultants, and other authorities. You will continuously work to streamline work processes while always providing high service and professional treatment to citizens and businesses.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a post-secondary education relevant to the position. You have some years of experience in handling building permits and cases regarding housing adaptation, preferably from municipal operations. You have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and the law on housing adaptation grants. Experience working with EDP Vision, Ciceron, and Gaida (formerly Geosecma) is a plus. You ensure that you stay updated in the field.

You are a team player who also has the ability to work independently. To function well in the group, you need to be a relationship builder who sees solutions before problems and has a flexible approach. In stressful situations, you maintain your calm and a realistic perspective on the situation. We highly value that you feel a strong responsibility for your tasks and ensure that you carry out your assignment. It is important that you can structure and plan your work and collaborate well with colleagues within the building permit group and administration, as well as with colleagues in other parts of the municipality. You are keen on providing good service. Good and professional treatment and the ability to adapt your communication to the person you meet are necessary. You speak and write fluent Swedish and have a driver's license (Category B).
