One of the Army Staff's focus areas is building the new Army. An army that focuses on the Army's operational capability and, in this regard, builds new as well as restructures existing units. Concurrently, the Army Staff leads units both nationally and internationally. The Army Staff develops and produces combat units within the Army as well as subordinate organizational units consisting of units and schools.

The above, combined with the continued establishment of the Army Staff as a cohesive and unifying force, means that the tasks are highly varied, developmental, and dynamic.

Information about the position

The Army Staff is an independent organizational unit within the Swedish Armed Forces, where the Technical and Maintenance Office Land (TVK Mark) is included as a division in the Armament Unit. TVK Mark is responsible for materiel maintenance, materiel utilization, and materiel maintenance economics within the Swedish Armed Forces, as well as ensuring that materiel is maintained in accordance with system objectives.

The Tracked Vehicle Section consists of eight employees located in Boden, Enköping, and Östersund and is part of the Boden/Umeå section within the Army Staff, where we are approximately 25 employees with broad technical competence and operations in several locations in the country.

The position offers varied tasks with independent responsibility and requires both independence and good teamwork skills. You work closely with colleagues within the Tracked Vehicle Section as well as in collaboration with other system sections, units, and external actors.

Tasks

As a Technical Design Leader for Tracked Vehicles (TDL BV), you work to ensure that the Swedish Armed Forces' tracked vehicle systems (Bv 206, 208, 309, and 410 with variants) have the correct technical configuration throughout their lifespan. In this role, you participate in decisions regarding maintenance measures and contribute to the development and management of the systems in a safe and efficient manner.

Main tasks:

  • Lead the preparation of system safety approval prior to decisions on usage.
  • Lead the preparation of Technical Orders (TO), including design, requirement specification, quality assurance, review, and coordination of TO follow-up.
  • Participate in requirement specification work during materiel development, procurement, and handover to the Armed Forces.
  • Participate in user and maintenance meetings.
  • Support Materiel System Leaders (MSL) and Technical System Leaders (TSL) as an expert in systematic change activities.
  • Support system safety issues and technical design issues.
  • Support the transfer of design responsibility between FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) and FM (Swedish Armed Forces).
  • Support the preparation of analysis material from our support systems PRIO, LIFT, etc.

Qualifications

  • University degree or other education/experience that the employer deems relevant.
  • Good ability to understand and express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
  • Good computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience of Armed Forces work within logistics, primarily technical services.
  • Class B driver's license.

Merits

  • Technical education and experience with land materiel within the Armed Forces.
  • Experience with the Armed Forces' support systems LIFT and PRIO (SAP).
  • Experience working with system safety.
  • Knowledge of Armed Forces materiel supply and materiel processes.
  • Previous experience working with planning and requirement specification from multiple time perspectives.
  • Long technical experience with tracked vehicle systems Bv410, Bv309 & Bv206/208.

Employment type: Permanent, starting with a six-month probationary period if you are not already employed within the Swedish Armed Forces.
