We are looking for a certified teacher in Swedish as a Second Language to join Österslättsskolan.

Job Responsibilities

You will be part of a work team that plans, implements, evaluates, and develops teaching based on the national curriculum. Together with the team, you will be responsible for:

• Creating and developing a safe environment that stimulates and challenges students' development and learning
• Preparing, evaluating, and documenting teaching
• Developing good relationships with students and their guardians
• Supporting and inspiring students to achieve the set goals

Requirements for the position:

• Certified teacher in Swedish as a Second Language

Merits for the position:

• Qualification in an additional subject
• Experience working in compulsory school grades 7–9
• Knowledge of how to meet and teach students with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF)

Personal Qualities:

You should be good at collaborating with others and able to take initiative. As a colleague, it is essential that you have a positive attitude and approach that allows students to develop according to their own prerequisites. You are accustomed to working digitally and using compensatory and digital teaching materials. We are looking for a colleague who, together with students and adults, has the ability and willingness to develop the school's activities. Personal suitability is given great importance.

Österslättsskolan has a very unique and strategic location in Karlshamn, combining proximity to central Karlshamn, nature, and first-class sports facilities. The school's surroundings offer perfect conditions for both active learning and a meaningful leisure time.

Österslättsskolan has approximately 360–370 students and about 40 employees. Within the school, we actively work with equal treatment and community. We also strive for high goal achievement and ensure that students have a strong influence.

Österslättsskolan is part of the Education Administration, which has approximately 1,200 employees. The administration is responsible for, among other things, preschool, compulsory school, special needs compulsory school, upper secondary school, special needs upper secondary school, municipal adult education, commissioned education, and Swedish for Immigrants (SFI).
