Do you want to work in a development-oriented project where you make a real difference to the future of young people?

Ung Framtid (Young Future) is a collaborative project between the Department of Children and Education and the Department of Work and Welfare. The project aims to reduce youth exclusion and create sustainable pathways to education and employment.

You will work in a dynamic environment, based at Christian 4 Gymnasium, Österäng Gymnasium, and within Municipal Activity Responsibility (Kommunalt aktivitetsansvar). Here, together with colleagues from various operations, you will meet young people in their daily lives. With us, you will become part of an engaged and cross-professional team consisting of study and career counselors, special needs educators, social workers, and student health services. Together, we work closely with young people in an environment characterized by collaboration, innovation, and a strong focus on individual needs.

Welcome to join our operations!

Your role with us

As a Social Worker/Youth Coach in the Ung Framtid project, you work closely with young people aged 16–20 who are currently at risk of, or already experiencing, exclusion from education and working life.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Building trusting relationships and motivating young people towards education or work
  • Providing individual support in daily life, such as regarding structure, routines, and attendance
  • Participating in mapping young people's needs and creating individual study and activity plans
  • Guiding young people towards education, internships, or employment, and supporting them with applications and study visits
  • Working closely with schools, student health services, social services, and other actors to coordinate interventions
  • Acting as a link between the young person, guardians, and authorities
  • Providing support to guardians in their role
  • Maintaining documentation and monitoring the young people's development
  • Supporting young people in transitions between different interventions, educational forms, and the labor market

The work is relationship-based and individualized, focusing on strengthening motivation, self-esteem, and hope for the future.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work or another behavioral science university degree that the employer finds suitable, combined with experience in social work within the social services sector. If you also have experience in treatment work and conversations with young people and guardians, we consider this a merit.

To succeed in the role, you have the ability to work with other people; to listen, show empathy and respect, and are unpretentious. You have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally, and you collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions.

You have the ability to make quick and clear decisions, both independently and together with others, and you have good initiative. You also have the ability to adapt to changed conditions. You encourage and support change initiatives. You easily adapt your behavior in relation to other people's needs.

Since the right personal qualities are important for success in the assignment, great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

For the work, you also need a B-driving license to easily move between the different operations.

We offer a workplace where:

  • Your relational skills make a real difference
  • You get to work in close collaboration with several professions
  • You contribute to developing new ways of working that can impact the operations long-term
  • You meet young people in change – and are part of creating their future.
