JENSEN Primary School Helsingborg is a new upper secondary school located in the city center, a stone's throw from the city library and the city park. Our school, as promised, offers real study quietness during every lesson, in every subject, and with every teacher. The climate we create in the classrooms is also reflected in the hallways.

We are now looking for an engaged, driven, and knowledgeable school counselor who, with a great heart for student well-being, wants to help create a safe, inclusive, and developmental school environment.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Conduct student interviews such as support, conflict, and crisis interviews, as well as investigative talks with students in groups and individually.
• Act as support to other employees, for example during coaching time, and participate in the safety team.
• Be responsible for the work with the school's equal treatment plan.
• Actively contribute to the school's overall development and take responsibility for the operations reaching its goals.
• Work both preventively and promotingly, with group-strengthening measures in classes as well as with individual students through motivational talks.

We are looking for you who want to develop in your professional role and who want to contribute to our students' success. In your role as a counselor at JENSEN, you will have the opportunity, together with engaged colleagues and present managers, to take overall responsibility for the school. At the same time, you have great freedom to use your competence to assist the pedagogical operations and to utilize and develop students' resources.

Qualifications

You must have adequate education for social work as a counselor, a social work degree, or a psychology degree, and experience working with young people is meritorious.

In the role of a counselor at our school, we are looking for an employee who has good skills in building relationships with students and colleagues. You should be outgoing and able to create and maintain your relationships. You have a task that requires you to collaborate well with both school management and teachers. You are receptive but also dare to express your views from your perspective as a counselor. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive way. You take great responsibility for your task and your work as a counselor. You structure your own approach and drive your processes forward.

In the role of a counselor, you should have well-founded and clear values and integrity. You are guided by ethics and values in decisive situations in your work. The work requires good and wise judgment together with humility.

Employment Type

The position is a permanent employment with a work time of 40% starting August 5, 2026. For this position, we apply a six-month probation period.
