The Catholic Diocese of Stockholm covers all of Sweden with 44 parishes across the country. Led by Cardinal Anders Arborelius, the diocese has approximately 132,000 registered members and is growing steadily. Within the diocese's central administration in Stockholm, there are several administrative units that we are now looking to strengthen with a Property Manager who will work both operationally and strategically with the diocese's property portfolio.

The Catholic Diocese of Stockholm is seeking an experienced Property Manager

This is your chance to take overall responsibility for a unique property portfolio and contribute to the long-term sustainable management of the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm's properties. Here you will work in a values-driven organization where the properties play a vital role for people, operations, and communities across Sweden.

About the role

As a Property Manager, you are responsible for leading, coordinating, and developing the diocese's property portfolio, which currently comprises approximately 17 properties around Sweden. The portfolio is evolving, making the role both varied and future-oriented. You will be based at the diocese's centrally located office on Södermalm in Stockholm and report to the Head of Finance.

You represent the diocese as the client towards consultants, contractors, and suppliers, playing a central role in ensuring that the properties are managed in a sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The role involves many contact points, and you will work closely with the diocese's leadership, council, and committees on matters concerning the development and long-term management of the properties.

Your main areas of responsibility

  • Take overall responsibility for the management of the diocese's property portfolio.
  • Represent the diocese as the client for consulting, contracting, and supplier services.
  • Prepare, monitor, and develop budgets, maintenance plans, and investment proposals.
  • Ensure that the properties meet current regulatory requirements and legislation.
  • Initiate, lead, and follow up on maintenance and development projects.
  • Participate in strategic issues regarding the long-term development of the properties.
  • Establish and lead the diocese's building council.
  • Coordinate needs and priorities between operations and external suppliers.
  • Provide support to parishes and operations regarding property-related matters.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have several years of experience in qualified property management and are accustomed to taking overall responsibility for both finance, technical aspects, and external supplier relations.

You likely have a university degree in property management, property economics, building technology, urban planning, or equivalent. Alternatively, you have acquired equivalent competence through relevant work experience.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

  • Experience from the property owner side or in qualified property management.
  • Experience working as a client towards consultants and contractors.
  • Good understanding of property economics, budgeting, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of property technology, maintenance planning, and regulatory requirements.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience with public sector properties, culturally historic buildings, or operations with many stakeholders.

Personal qualities

To thrive in the role, you are a structured and confident person who combines a strategic perspective with the ability to get things done in everyday life. You are used to building trusting relationships, have good judgment, and can balance different interests in a professional manner.

You will join an organization driven by strong social engagement and long-term responsibility. To thrive in the role, you appreciate working in a values-driven operation where the properties are an important part of the diocese's mission and contribute to meeting places for people across Sweden.

What the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm offers

At the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm, you have the opportunity to work with a property portfolio that differs from many others. Here, modern operational premises are combined with culturally historic buildings and environments that are of great significance to people and communities across Sweden.

You will have an independent and strategically important role where you work closely with decision-makers and have the opportunity to influence both daily management and the long-term development of the properties. The role offers great variety, many contact points, and the opportunity to contribute to a socially important mission in an organization with strong confidence in the future.

The position is located in Stockholm and involves travel to the diocese's properties and operations around the country.
