The Management Office of Region Uppsala is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. We are now looking for a Procurement Specialist for the Supply Chain team, responsible for procuring consumables for healthcare – primarily within cardiology, neurology, thorax, radiology, and surgery. This position is an exciting opportunity for you with a background in healthcare to take the step into a new role where your experience makes a difference.
Our Operations
The Supply Chain is a collaboration between the regions of Dalarna, Västmanland, Sörmland, Uppsala, and Örebro. Every year, we conduct procurements valued at approximately 2 billion SEK, and our portfolio includes 100,000 articles. Region Uppsala hosts the collaboration, and the Supply Chain employees are part of the same department as the region's own procurement specialists and buyers.
Your Role
As a Procurement Specialist, you plan, lead, and execute procurements from needs analysis to contract signing and contract management. The role also involves providing support in procurement matters and, together with your colleagues in the unit, developing purchasing and procurement activities.
The work as a Procurement Specialist is stimulating and varied, with many contacts, and you will become a central figure in the work. The role involves leading, steering, and collaborating with expert groups consisting of various professional roles.
The role of Procurement Specialist requires business acumen and analytical skills. You take responsibility for your tasks, structure your approach, and drive your processes forward efficiently. You can prioritize and handle several different types of assignments simultaneously, which includes planning, setting up, and maintaining timeframes. You have good self-awareness and the ability to adapt to situations and recipients in a responsive, clear, and smooth manner. As a person, you are secure and have an easy time establishing and nurturing relationships and collaborations.
As a Procurement Specialist, you will:
- Independently execute procurements within areas such as catheter-based interventions (vascular, neuro, and PCI), TAVI interventions, interventional and radiology materials, customized sets, as well as arrhythmia and pacemakers.
- Work closely with operations to understand and meet their needs.
- Lead expert groups consisting of various professions.
- Serve as an advisory and supportive expert in procurement matters.
Your Qualifications
- Degree as a nurse or assistant nurse with experience from clinical work within healthcare.
- Very good knowledge of Excel and good knowledge of the rest of the Office package.
- Very good ability to communicate in speech and writing in Swedish, as well as good knowledge of English.
- Interest in driving complex projects with periods of high workload.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Clinical experience as a nurse or assistant nurse within cardiology, neurology, thorax, radiology, or surgery.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, or sales of consumables, products, and/or equipment for healthcare.
- Experience in independently executing or participating in procurement processes.
- Experience in improvement work, such as material selection or changed working methods that lead to cost savings.
- Experience in public procurement and good knowledge of the Public Procurement Act (LOU).
- Experience with the products included in the area of responsibility.
- Category B driver's license, as travel occurs in the position.

Location
Regionhuset in central Uppsala, but the position may involve travel within Sweden.
