About the role
As an operational buyer, you play a key role in ensuring that the right materials are available on time for internal customers, primarily within manufacturing operations. The role exists to create stability, efficiency, and development in the supply chain through close collaboration with global suppliers and internal stakeholders. You work based on existing agreements, drive follow-ups, and handle deviations while actively developing your purchasing area and contributing to improvement work.
You drive the daily flow forward through structure, clear communication, and good prioritization skills. The work is varied, sometimes intense, and requires your commitment and flexibility.
Common tasks:
- Manage purchase orders and invoices
- Follow up on deliveries and ensure delivery precision
- Drive and lead supplier meetings
- Work with material planning, supplier development, and process improvement
Your profile
You are an outgoing and driven person who is motivated by creating structure and delivering results at a high pace. You have good collaboration skills and thrive in a role with many contact surfaces, where communication and problem-solving are central parts of everyday life. Furthermore, you are analytical, quality-conscious, and have the ability to quickly identify and handle deviations in a structured manner.
Requirements for the position:
- Post-secondary education in purchasing, logistics, or equivalent (e.g., economics/industrial economics)
- Experience working systematically with deliveries, follow-ups, and deviation management
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with root cause and consequence analysis
- Very good knowledge of English, both verbal and written
Meritorious is experience in operational purchasing work as well as good knowledge of SAP and Excel, especially within material and logistics flows.
