At Valdemarsro Gymnasium, we are looking for a Support Pedagogue for our Short-term Supervision service. Work with us and help shape the future for the residents of Malmö and society!

Job Responsibilities

As a Support Pedagogue, you work within Short-term Supervision according to the Social Services Act (LSS) §9:7 with children and young people who have physical, mental, or intellectual disabilities. In this role, you provide both daily practical and planned support interventions, as well as participate in meaningful activities together with the users. You provide support regarding personal hygiene, meals, and leisure time, with a strong focus on the user's participation, influence, and independence.

You are also responsible for drawing up and following up on implementation plans together with the user, as well as documenting interventions according to current routines. The position involves collaboration with the user's network, colleagues, and other partners. Activities such as walks and excursions are natural parts of the assignment.

The position is located on a department that serves individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who are at a low developmental level. Part of the role is assigned to school activities, where you work as a student assistant in one or more classes.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education of at least 200 YH credits or 60 higher education credits with a focus on disability, pedagogy, and/or behavioral science

• Good knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and TEACCH and how these methods are applied in practice

• Good digital competence

• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Merits:

• Additional post-secondary education within the field of disability

• Experience working with children and young people with disabilities and/or long-term mental health disabilities in a school environment

• Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder combined with intellectual disability.
