We are looking for you who have a strong interest in clarifying pedagogy, structure, and who thrive working in a business where no two days are alike.

Your Role

As a support assistant at Ekebacka, you work to provide users with individually adapted support in their daily lives. Through a clarifying approach, you contribute to predictability, structure, and security in everyday life based on each person's needs and conditions.

The role includes planning, creating implementation plans, documenting, conducting regular follow-ups, and contributing to maintaining good quality in the operation. You collaborate with parents, relatives, guardians/administrators, as well as other actors both internally and externally.

The tasks are varied and may include support with cleaning, cooking, personal hygiene, and medication management. You plan your work together with the person you support and recognize the importance of every individual being involved and having influence over their daily life.

You encourage leisure and cultural activities as well as participation in society based on the user's individually set goals. The goal is to create conditions for each person to live as independent a life as possible.

Since challenging behaviors may occur in the operation, you work with low-affective handling and behavioral mapping. You understand the importance of creating good relationships, working structurally, and giving each user the opportunity for influence and participation.

Your Knowledge and Experience

We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing Program with a focus on disability, or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on support and service within the disability area (social work), or alternatively other education or work experience that the employer deems equivalent.

It is meritorious if you have experience from social psychiatry as well as long experience working within the disability area.

For the position, you must be able to work methodically based on established routines and have a professional attitude. You have experience with low-affective handling and mapping of challenging behaviors, and feel confident using alternative communication methods such as picture support and social stories.

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in the target group and want to contribute to giving other people a meaningful life. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working together with colleagues and other professions regarding the user. As a person, you are calm, secure, and responsible. You have the ability to adapt to changed conditions, prioritize in your work, and see opportunities instead of obstacles.

You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and feel confident with documentation. Good computer skills are required, and knowledge of Lifecare or similar systems is meritorious.

You must be able to show an extract from the police criminal record. Type of extract: Work in the home with elderly and persons with disabilities.

You also need to be able to show a passport/valid ID card. A driver's license can be shown together with a personal certificate obtained from skatteverket.se using Bank-ID; we can do this during a scheduled interview.

Your Future Workplace

Ekebacka is a group home according to LSS for adults with cognitive and mental disabilities. The operation is located on a farm outside Vara and offers a unique environment where users have the opportunity for an active and meaningful daily life.

Day activity is conducted on the farm in the form of animal care, wood handling, forestry work, and gardening. Here, approximately 20 employees work together to create a safe, developmental, and content-rich daily life for the people who live and visit the operation.

Working hours vary between day, evening, and weekend shifts, as well as on-call nights and awake nights.

Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period. We may apply a probationary employment.
