RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome your application to work as a support pedagogue with us within the Disability Care (OF) and our Group Homes according to the LSS (Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).

At OF, we work based on each individual's unique conditions and abilities to ensure that disability does not limit life. This is our focus in daily work, regulated by the LSS. This means that the individual has the right to measures that enable self-determination, equality in living conditions, full participation in society, and the opportunity to live like others. This collectively ensures good living conditions.

As a support pedagogue, you are the one who holds together the pedagogical work and approach in the operations. This includes, among other things, ongoing mapping and analysis of each resident's needs and development, translating that knowledge into the right methods and approaches, and supervising colleagues so that the working method is rooted in the individual's needs and what LSS actually requires.

Your duties include, among other things:

  • Pedagogical support and supervision to the work group regarding approach, methodology, and documentation.
  • Ongoing mapping of individual needs and conditions based on the implementation plan.
  • Support to colleagues in designing and following up on action plans.
  • Support to colleagues in communication, daily activities, social training, and other measures related to the individual's living situation, life conditions, and needs.
  • Active work for a salutogenic and low-affective approach throughout the work group.
  • Collaboration with guardians, relatives, external actors, and other concerned parties.

You will have scheduled pedagogical time for planning and development work, in addition to direct work with the residents. Your working hours will include days, evenings, weekends, and on-call sleeping shifts according to the operation's schedule.

As an employee within OF, you may be scheduled with other units within the Disability Care depending on operational needs or your competence. In work with persons who have extensive support needs, situations with challenging behavior, aggressive behavior, as well as threats and threats of violence may occur. A good ability to act safely and professionally in unpredictable situations is therefore a requirement.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a deep understanding of why LSS exists, what the law is intended to achieve, and what it means in the meeting with an individual person who has the right to a life on their own terms.

It is a requirement that you, as an applicant, have a degree as a support pedagogue and documented experience of work within LSS operations. You must also have good knowledge of LSS as a rights-based law, experience of pedagogical approach and method development in care work, and knowledge of low-affective handling as an approach. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of or experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and experience with operational systems such as Treserva, TimeCare, and Teams. A manual driving license (Category B) is required.

You who apply have the ability to supervise colleagues so that the intentions of the legislation become understandable and applicable in everyday life. You can translate pedagogical theory and methodology into concrete practice, and you are safe, calm, and clear in situations requiring quick assessment. You have a good sense of co-leadership and take responsibility without needing delegated authority for every decision, and you understand the connection between needs-based planning and responsible resource use, contributing to measures being well-motivated and documented. You communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
