As a social worker, you are offered interesting and varied tasks. The unit has a high level of ambition and a drive to develop working methods to improve quality, all with the individual in focus. As a new employee, you will receive a gradual introduction to the work adapted to your experience.
About the position
As a social worker within the Investigation of Young People and Adults unit, you handle cases concerning harmful substance use and addiction, domestic violence, crime, and other psychosocial issues. Two caseworkers are assigned to each case: a lead caseworker and a co-caseworker. In your daily work, you will conduct broad social work. Close collaboration with other actors and the individual's network is essential for success. Our target group is people aged 16 and up.
It is important to us that you feel comfortable and secure when you join us. Therefore, we offer you a solid foundation in your professional practice, such as:
- thorough introduction after employment
- support from senior caseworkers in practical matters
- deepening and specialization in a competency ladder
- support resources such as administrators and transport coordinators
- regular supervision
Examples of tasks:
- investigate, decide, and implement decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and the Care of Abusers Act (LVM)
- follow up on implemented measures
- maintain contacts for investigative purposes as well as to strengthen individuals' own resources
- write statements to relevant authorities, e.g., IVO and the Administrative Court
- present cases in committees and boards
- work based on proven knowledge theory and evidence-based methods
- be familiar with and follow current laws, policies, and routines for the operation
- work and document in the existing operational systems
About the workplace
The Social Welfare Board responsible for individual and family care belongs to the Social Administration in Örebro Municipality. Individual and family care is based on several areas involving both authority functions and support measures. The social services in Örebro Municipality have a large outpatient care, a large preventive effort, several residential care homes (HVB), and supported housing. Within the authority functions, there are several units: Foster Care, Family Law, Reception, Social Emergency Shelter, as well as three investigation units for Children and Young People and Young People and Adults.
Priorities in the operation are to ensure legal security, provide good service and accessibility to our service users, and ensure that the methods we use are based on science and proven experience.

Qualifications
As a social worker, it is important that you have flexible thinking, are meticulous, and have the ability to find quick and legally secure solutions. You are secure, stable, and can relate in a way adapted to the situation. You prefer to work in a team with shared responsibility while independently driving the work forward. In this role, it is important that you are responsive in contact with others and have a natural ability to put yourself in others' perspectives and situations without losing your professional integrity. The work requires good communication skills, which means, among other things, that you can express yourself clearly and structured in speech and writing.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- degree in Social Work, 210 credits
- Class B driver's license
