Job Responsibilities
To our unit Housing Support Center 2, we are looking for an experienced and engaged support assistant. We offer you stimulating and flexible work with significant independent responsibility.
As a support assistant with us, you will meet people with various functional variations and different needs, often within the target group of neuropsychiatric conditions, acquired brain injuries, intellectual disabilities, and other mental functional variations. There are also so-called dual diagnoses, meaning substance abuse may be present.
As a support assistant, you work in the individual's home based on each client's individual implementation plan. You promote the client's own resources to create good conditions for an independent life with participation and development as the focus. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that the client receives the interventions they need in different areas of life. Interventions may include support in social or physical activities, support with structure in daily life, support in contacting authorities, and support with daily chores such as shopping and cleaning. It can also involve activities outside the home to break isolation. Social documentation is an important part of the work.
Furthermore, you work structured based on goals and routines to promote an independent daily life. Our goal is to see the person in their context. We operate from Stampgatan, and you work on a schedule where working hours may vary between day, evening, and even some weekends.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing Program, the Support Assistant Program, or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education must have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
You also have several years of experience working with people with mental functional variations. To work with us, you also need good computer skills and be comfortable working with various digital work tools. You need to be able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing as you are responsible for independently drawing up implementation plans according to IBIC as well as other social documentation. You also need to have good knowledge of the Social Services Act and be able to follow up on plans and documentation in a purposeful manner. Experience with methods such as ESL, low-affective handling, MI (motivational interviewing), and recovery-oriented approaches are seen as meritorious.
You gain energy from sharing your knowledge and contributing to others' development. You take responsibility – both for your own tasks and for the whole – and always have the users' best interests in focus. You finish what you start and ensure the work is done well. You are flexible and adapt your working method when conditions change, see opportunities in change, and can quickly pivot when needed. At the same time, you enjoy collaborating and contributing to an open and respectful work climate, but are also secure in working independently and making your own decisions within the scope of your assignment.
