About the Department

The "Insats och sysselsättning" (Intervention and Employment) unit is responsible for labor market initiatives and employment. We also offer Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) education as well as basic and municipal adult education. The unit runs several projects focused on education, employment, and jobs. Our work is based on close collaboration where we learn and have fun together. We are embarking on an exciting development journey together with managers and employees in the Alvesta Municipal Group.

Responsibilities

As a Team Leader/Supervisor in the work group within Internal Services, you are responsible for leading the practical work together with our participants. The role involves actively working physically and being a present role model in the various assignments of the operation. Duties include, among other things, facility maintenance, moving assignments, simple carpentry work, and other practical services performed both within our own premises and out in the municipality's operations.

A central part of the assignment is to create security, structure, and motivation for the participants through good treatment and clear communication. You contribute to ensuring that each individual receives guidance, support, and the opportunity to develop in their tasks and professional role.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in working with people and who thrive in a role where practical tasks are combined with supportive efforts. The work takes place both indoors and outdoors, which requires flexibility and a willingness to take on varied tasks.

We would like you to be handy and practical, with the ability to carpentry, build, and perform simple repairs. You enjoy working with your hands and have a solution-oriented approach where you see what needs to be done and take initiative.

You preferably have relevant education, for example within social work or behavioral science, or another equivalent background. This is meritorious but not a requirement. Experience working with people in need of support, as well as the ability to motivate, create structure, and contribute to daily work, is also valuable.

Good teamwork skills and social competence are a prerequisite since the work often takes place in close collaboration with colleagues and participants. It is also meritorious if you have practical experience in areas such as facility maintenance or park and green space management, as these tasks occur in the operation.
