As an Automation Engineer, you will become a central part of the technical organization, responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing automation solutions that strengthen both operational reliability and production capacity.

You will be employed as a consultant by Academic Work and work on behalf of Nord-Lock. The assignment is long-term, and for the right person, there are good opportunities for continued development within the company.

Responsibilities

As an Automation Engineer, you play a key role in shaping and securing future automation solutions in Nord-Lock's production environment. You are responsible for both new development and further development of automation systems and are a vital part of creating stable, efficient, and future-proof production.

You will primarily:

• Drive the development and commissioning of new production equipment and automation solutions
• Be responsible for electrical and automation design of machines and control systems in projects
• Program PLC systems, primarily in Omron and Siemens
• Contribute to technical requirement specifications for investments and new development projects
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and further develop existing production equipment to increase operational reliability
• Ensure structured documentation of systems, processes, and technical solutions
• Work with a holistic perspective, ensuring that machines, systems, and flows interact optimally

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a post-secondary education in industrial automation, control and regulation technology, or equivalent
• Has a few years of experience as an automation engineer or in a similar role
• Has good knowledge of Swedish and English, as this is required in daily work
• Has good system understanding and sees the big picture of how production and machines interact

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience with PLC programming in Omron and/or Siemens
• Experience with Eplan or similar drawing tools
• Experience working in the manufacturing industry
