Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for staff interested in working with people in need of various support measures in life.

You will work together with colleagues to build up and work in an existing group activity called Focus and Focus 2. This role requires attention to detail, a clear and pedagogical approach, and a good understanding of the importance of low-affective interaction.

The main task is to guide a group of people who have a great need for clarity and structure in their daily activities, with the aim of increasing their development and opportunities for independence.

You will work in a team where communication between colleagues and participants should provide comprehensibility, manageability, and context.

The tasks for the participants vary based on their interests and need for stimulation and learning. The work requires you to be flexible in your problem-solving abilities to find content suitable for different individuals within the group.

You will also have the responsibility of driving vehicles for planned activities outside the shared premises, as well as picking up and dropping off participants at their homes in the mornings and afternoons through the municipality's organization. Collaboration and tasks in other day activities also occur.

Requirements and Merits

To fit the job, it is important that you:

  • have a good ability to adhere to established work/interaction methods and routines.
  • understand the importance of having a relationship-building approach when working with people with intellectual disabilities.
  • have a good ability to analyze your own work/interaction methods and be able to change your approach based on participants' needs.

The role includes maintaining social documentation according to legislation, as well as preparing, following up, and revising implementation plans.

You will participate in the development of quality in the activity and take part in various meetings, training, and supervision.

The work is carried out with great respect for participants' rights to development, self-determination, and integrity. Close contact with participants' relatives is maintained.

The role also includes delegated tasks from nurses, such as medication management, and in some cases, rehabilitative and training interventions from physiotherapists/occupational therapists.

Care-related tasks are included in the role, such as toilet assistance and hygiene.

You will receive support in a team consisting of a manager and colleagues, such as work supervisors/work coaches and support educators in other activities.

Our daily life should be characterized by community, joy, innovation, development, and how we reach there together.

Qualifications

  • Completed upper secondary education, for example in the Care and Nursing Program or the Child and Youth Program, or experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Experience working in adapted schools and a valid Class B driver's license are required.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
  • Experience in work guidance for people with disabilities is meritorious.
  • Sign language skills and being multilingual, for example in Arabic or Kurdish, are meritorious.

Employment Terms and Conditions

Employment Type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, Start Date: Start date by agreement.

Probationary employment may occur.

Karlskoga Municipality is part of a Swedish-speaking administrative area and thus has a responsibility to safeguard the status of the Swedish language. This means, among other things, that we must offer preschool activities and elderly care in Swedish.
