Your workplace

Laboratory Medicine Värmland operates throughout the county and consists of four medical specialties; Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Pathology, and Transfusion Medicine. We currently have 315 employees in our accredited operation and are tasked with providing sample collection, preparing and analyzing samples, and producing quality-assured analysis results, diagnoses, and diagnostic support with high service quality.

We are now looking for a biomedical analyst with a special interest in hematology to join our team at Clinical Chemistry in Karlstad. At the Clinical Chemistry unit at the Central Hospital, approximately 70 employees work in a 24/7 operation. Here, you will become a key person in the diagnostic work with special responsibility for cell assessments.

Your tasks

We are a service organization where we perform analysis work primarily within the areas of general chemistry, hematology, and coagulation, but also within the special areas of immunochemistry, protein chemistry, toxicology, and pharmacology.

We also perform sample collections, functional examinations, and are responsible for the anticoagulation clinic.

This is a position for you who thrives in analytical deepening – where every detail, color change, and morphological deviation matters. The role includes microscopy of peripheral blood as well as assessment of synovial crystals and urine sediment. When assessing peripheral blood, you work in pairs.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed biomedical analyst. In this role, you will primarily work within hematology, including microscopic assessment and cell morphology. The work requires that you are meticulous, well-organized, and have good communication skills. You thrive in a changing environment and enjoy working at a high pace. You are also flexible and confident in your professional role and find it easy to collaborate.

To succeed in the assignment, you need to have determination while maintaining focus and patience. A holistic view and good judgment are two important qualities in the role.

Since all our routines are written in Swedish, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required. Previous experience in the field is highly meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
