The Elderly Sector in Kil Municipality is responsible for elderly care. The sector is also responsible for the provision of all municipal healthcare, rehabilitation, memory teams, day activities, and support for relatives.

Nurses in home care are based in Kil town, where we have our shared offices, and travel to patients' homes in ordinary housing by walking, cycling, or using the municipality's cars. Nurses in special housing and short-term care are based at our new SÄBO Grinnemo facility.

The nursing team belongs to the Health, Care, and Interventions unit, which also includes municipal rehabilitation, assistance officers, memory teams, and support for relatives.

Responsibilities

As a nurse in the municipal home care service, your main responsibilities are to oversee healthcare interventions for patients. You will perform independent assessments, medical treatments, and nursing interventions at the patients' homes. Preventive work to maintain health and well-being is also part of your daily tasks.

Work in home care requires great flexibility in daily planning structures. Patients' health and well-being fluctuate and sometimes change rapidly, making prioritization crucial for daily work. Today's work plan may quickly need to be restructured.

You enjoy planning and working independently but have a strong ability to collaborate within the team and across professions. You can find solutions when obstacles arise. No two days are alike, but with good collaboration throughout the nursing team, we succeed together in our mission to provide healthcare interventions to the citizens of Kil Municipality we serve.

The position also includes delegating and supervising care and support staff in healthcare interventions, as well as being a professional support for patients and their relatives.

Our working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends (4 evening shifts over 12 weeks and every 6th weekend).

Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse. It is an advantage if you have completed further education specializing as an advanced practice nurse or in elderly care, and have experience from home care.

Personal qualities are given great weight.
