About Viljan Arken
About the operations Viljan Arken is a residential care home (HVB) for boys and young men aged 16–21, operating under the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU). Our facility is located in a natural setting in Vårgårda. We work with youth facing social and/or substance abuse issues, offering a safe, structured, and individualized treatment environment. The operation provides structured addiction treatment with clear routines, close adult support, and individual therapeutic interventions. The premises include a school offering individually adapted education. Through gradual housing, education, and meaningful activities, we support the youth in their development towards increased independence and a drug-free future.
About the role of Treatment Pedagogue
We work with commitment in everything concerning our clients. The role of a Treatment Pedagogue involves planning, implementing, and following up on pedagogical and therapeutic interventions based on the individual's needs. The work is built on creating safe relationships, motivating change, and strengthening the individual's ability to become independent. It also includes documenting interventions and participating in planning meetings and development work. You will act as a support for the client, and together you will develop strategies to achieve goals in daily life. The role also includes household management tasks such as cooking, shopping, and cleaning.
Main responsibilities:
- Provide individual support in daily activities, social training, and skills development.
- Work based on implementation plans, treatment methods, and pedagogical interventions.
- Conduct structured conversations, motivational interviewing, and use other evidence-based methods.
- Write case notes, implementation plans, risk assessments, and reports according to current guidelines.
- Collaborate with colleagues, social services, schools, healthcare providers, and relatives.
- Create a stable, safe, and predictable environment; handle conflicts and boundary setting.
- Plan and carry out activities that strengthen participants' social and personal development.
- Conduct drug tests.
- Be responsible for the daily operation of the household.
Qualifications
You are relationship-building and have a good ability to establish contact with youth in vulnerable situations. You are calm, stable, and can maintain a realistic perspective on situations that arise in daily work. You have good collaboration skills, relate to others in a listening manner, and enjoy working with others. You are an independent, humble, and responsible person who is passionate about care work and can see the individual's needs.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Good computer skills, experience with documentation
- Experience working with children and young people
- Low-affective approach (calm and de-escalating interaction style)
- Certificate of good conduct (extract from police record) for work in residential care
Meritorious qualifications:
- Education as a social pedagogue or 400 YHP Treatment Pedagogue
- Experience within addiction treatment
Employment conditions
Role: Social Pedagogue
Employment type: Hourly employment / On-call employment
Work hours: Day/Evening/Weekend/On-call/Overnight wake shifts
Start date: As soon as possible
Collective agreement: We are bound by the collective agreement of Vårdföretagarna/Kommunal, Sector E.
