Registered Nurse for the Arrhythmia Unit, Akademiska Sjukhuset
Are you interested in cardiac care and eager to learn more about arrhythmias? Then you are welcome to apply to our Arrhythmia Unit.
We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Here, something is always happening – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We look forward to receiving your application!
About the Department
We are part of the Department of Heart and Lung Diseases. The department is organized into four sections: cardiology, thoracic surgery, pulmonology, and clinical physiology. Here, highly specialized care, diagnostics, and treatment of heart and lung diseases are provided.
At the Arrhythmia Unit, patients with various types of heart rhythm disorders are treated and operated on. The unit consists of two treatment/operating rooms and receives approximately 1,200 patients annually. A large part of our operations consists of planned care.
We are a small, close-knit team consisting of 15 nurses, 2 nursing assistants, and 1 BMA (Nurse Assistant). We work closely with the unit's physicians. We believe it is important to have fun together in our daily work. Active employee participation and opportunities for development, for example through own areas of responsibility, are a given here. You will receive an individually tailored introduction.
Your Role
Ablation of atrial fibrillation and pacemaker implantation are examples of treatments and surgeries performed here. The tasks consist largely of monitoring the patient or assisting the physician during these procedures, which are usually performed under local anesthesia.
You will also be involved in preparing materials for surgeries and treatments, as well as preparing the patients. Since most of our procedures involve the use of X-rays, you will wear a lead apron for parts of the workday.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone ready for a new challenge in an exciting field. You are a registered nurse with a few years of experience in hospital care. You can work both independently and in a team, adapting to a varying work pace. You are engaged, innovative, and positive towards the development of the department.
Previous experience in cardiac care and/or specialized training in surgery, anesthesia, or intensive care is considered an advantage.
What We Offer
We can offer you a full-time position with a permanent contract. Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday. Start date is negotiable. Probation period may apply.
Here you will receive benefits that make a difference. Read more about the benefits on Region Uppsala's website (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/).
