Recruiter for Wikimedia's Autumn Fundraising Campaign
WIKIMEDIA SVERIGEStockholms län, Stockholm
Previous experience is desired
The organization behind Wikipedia is looking for experienced recruiters for the autumn fundraising campaign
In a world where polarization and conflicts are growing, Wikimedia Sweden sees free and accessible knowledge as a key to understanding, dialogue, and positive development. Wikipedia, with its millions of articles and half a billion page views per day, has become one of the world's most important knowledge sources.
Work for free knowledge at Wikimedia Sweden
Wikimedia Sweden is now looking for four to five recruiters who want to join the autumn fundraising team – and work to ensure that knowledge is free and accessible to everyone. As an employee at Wikimedia Sweden, you work to improve some of the world's largest knowledge sources, the most famous being Wikipedia. The team's goal is to get more people to stand up for and support a society where knowledge can be freely used, shared, and spread – to anyone who wants to access it.
The job is suitable for students or for those looking for part-time work. The work will take place indoors at events and sometimes outdoors, in Stockholm and the surrounding area, spread across afternoons/evenings and weekends. The setup will differ slightly from standard recruitment. First and foremost, we are recruiting members who pay only 100 SEK per year. The goal is to have quality conversations so that as many people as possible want to become members of the association, and also stay and renew their membership in year two and beyond.
In addition to working on their own results, the team will test different approaches in the conversations they have. By then evaluating these different working methods, we can see what is the best way for Wikimedia Sweden to recruit in order to get people to support our important work long-term.
We are looking for
We are looking for you who are communicative, curious about people, and challenged by working proactively. You are a person who takes responsibility for your own results and evaluates your working methods to continuously develop. We would like you to have previous experience in recruitment/proactive sales. You should be able to converse fluently in Swedish and English.
The work will primarily take place during the period August to October 2026. Additional work may be possible until December 2026. The position is a fixed-term part-time employment with an hourly wage.
The work shifts are adapted somewhat to the team's composition but are intended to be 2–5 work shifts per week, including weekends. The work shifts are estimated to be 4–6 hours depending on the day.
Hourly wage: 147 SEK (excluding vacation pay)
We offer
- Work in making knowledge accessible to more people than ever before. You are part of work that changes the world.
- An opportunity to help make one of the world's ten largest websites – Wikipedia – even better.

About Wikimedia Sweden
Wikimedia Sweden was founded in 2007 and is a non-profit public benefit association, active in Sweden. Our goal is to make knowledge freely accessible to all people. Our primary tool in this work is Wikipedia and Wikimedia Foundation's other platforms. We help individuals, organizations, and institutions in various ways to both use and contribute to Wikipedia.
Free knowledge means information that is allowed to be copied, reused, and distributed, including for commercial purposes, without costs or other restrictions than attribution.
We work closely with a host of dedicated volunteers, Wikimedia Foundation in the USA, and over 160 other Wikimedia organizations around the world. The association is in a growth phase and will significantly expand its operations in the coming years. We hope you want to become a key person in that work.
Our activities contribute to global and local societal development by:
- Strengthening education and access to information, which helps individuals make informed decisions and participate in society.
- Promoting free knowledge and digital inclusion, which enables more people to access and contribute to knowledge.
- Working for sustainable and democratic dissemination of information, in line with the UN's global sustainability goals.
