Assistant Nurse for Orthopedic Care Units A and B, Höglandssjukhuset

Are you an assistant nurse and curious about orthopedics? Do you want to work together with the skilled staff at the orthopedic clinic and receive support from an assistant nurse mentor? Then we believe the position of assistant nurse at Orthopedic Care Units A and B at Höglandssjukhuset in Eksjö might be right for you.

The Role of Assistant Nurse

As an assistant nurse at the orthopedic care units, you are responsible for basic nursing care pre- and post-operatively. You work actively with rehabilitation together with the patient, covering areas such as mobilization, nutrition, and preventive work to avoid pressure ulcers and healthcare-associated infections. Documentation in the medical record system Cosmic is also part of the job.

The orthopedic care units consist of two wards: Ward A, which is for patients with acute orthopedic conditions requiring admission for treatment, and Ward B, which handles planned surgery. As an assistant nurse with us, you will enjoy a natural variety and broad competence within orthopedics as you work on both wards.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Many of our patients need us around the clock, and for the assistant nurse we are seeking now, this means working day and evening shifts on weekdays and weekends. We have individual schedule planning, so you can influence which shifts you work.

Your Future Workplace

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse. We would appreciate it if you had experience in orthopedics (but it is not a requirement) and experience working in a hospital. Orthopedics is the most exciting field we know, and we are looking for someone who is curious about the specialty and interested in learning as much as possible within it.

To thrive with us, you enjoy having a lot of patient contact and feel comfortable meeting patients in various situations. Fundamentally, it is about providing good care and a good reception to patients. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating, and you have the interest, will, and ability to help others.

You work well with others and adapt easily to changed circumstances and different work paces. You plan your workday efficiently and continuously maintain your knowledge within the field.

All of us working at the orthopedic clinic feel a great responsibility, and we work to maintain high production with high quality to provide patients with good care. Participation and joy in work are important to us, and it means a lot to us that you have a positive attitude towards both tasks and colleagues. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Our Offer to You

We offer you a varied job where you play an important role for the orthopedic clinic's patients and your colleagues. You will become part of a team together with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and doctors, where we value each other and our respective knowledge and have a good community.
