Job Description

The role of Building Permit Officer and Building Inspector involves outward-facing work where you make assessments based on complex legislation, detailed plans, other regulatory documents, and legal precedents.

As an officer/inspector at the Planning and Building Department, you handle building permits and follow the entire building permit process, including technical consultations and site visits, as well as participating in the board's supervision. You will also work with pre-decisions and coastal protection cases. In your work, you collaborate closely with colleagues in the building department but are responsible for your cases independently. You have frequent contact with the public through advice and information on matters related to the area of operation. Consequently, the work involves many contacts with clients, construction companies, and architects, as well as with the municipality's politicians and residents.

As an officer/inspector in Eksjö Municipality, you continuously work on developing the processing process and always provide citizens with good service and professional treatment.

Qualifications

• Building Engineer
• Vocational Higher Education (YH) in Building Permit Processing

It is meritorious if you have previous experience in similar processing work, or alternatively, experience within the construction sector.

• Type of Employment: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: Start date 2026-08-17 by agreement, ending 2026-12-31.
