The Role of Occupational Health and Safety Engineer As an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer, you are Hercules' expert in the H&S field, which implies a broad scope and independence in your tasks. You work with both central issues for NCC Sweden as a whole and more specific issues for Hercules. Much of your work is strategic, and you collaborate closely with Hercules' management team and line managers. You are an invaluable support to both the department management and our employees in ongoing projects, such as project managers, site managers, and foremen. You contribute expertise in early stages, follow up on incidents, and support our managers and leaders with H&S matters. Through regular project visits, follow-up on incident reporting, and by coaching and training staff in preventive occupational health and safety work, you actively contribute to our goal of zero accidents and a work environment free from work-related ill health. Centrally, you contribute to developing NCC's H&S work together with your colleagues from all business areas within Health & Safety Sweden. This can involve longer or shorter projects, e.g., developing new training programs, implementing new requirements, or participating in industry forums. Hercules has its own management system where you have the role of process owner for the H&S process. This entails responsibility for maintaining and, if necessary, updating the management system. The role also includes conducting internal audits in accordance with ISO 45001. You report to the H&S Manager for Infrastructure. Together with your colleagues within the Health & Safety organization in Infrastructure Sweden, you are a key part of our continued H&S work at NCC. Hercules operates at several locations across Sweden, which means the role involves some travel. About Hercules Hercules is one of the leading foundation companies in the Nordics, a subsidiary of NCC, and is part of the Infrastructure business area. Core activities include piling, retaining structures, ground strengthening, and the manufacturing of concrete piles. Hercules has approximately 200 employees located at various sites in Sweden. Your Profile as an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer You have a university degree in occupational health and safety combined with at least five years of relevant work experience, or alternatively, extensive practical experience in the field. Experience from the construction and infrastructure industry is considered an advantage, as is experience leading projects or assignments at a central level within the H&S field. As an H&S Engineer, you contribute knowledge about systematic occupational health and safety work, which requires competence and a genuine interest in the area. You thrive working independently but also enjoy working closely with our employees in production or in the offices. You also like to work flexibly, as your tasks will vary from operational work out on our projects to more strategic H&S issues at a central level. You are comfortable communicating both in groups and in individual conversations. For this reason, we require good Swedish skills in both speech and writing. You are also a proficient user of various IT systems. We use Synergi as our reporting system. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required as our projects are located at various places in Sweden, involving significant travel.
