Department of Blood and Cancer Diseases
We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
Do you want to try something new and develop in your professional role?
We are expanding and developing our radiotherapy services and are looking for you who want to join our team. You are a nurse or radiographer with education in radiotherapy. Even if you are a basic-trained nurse or radiographer, you are welcome to apply, and we then offer distance training in radiotherapy through Lund University.
Our Operations
The Radiotherapy Department is one of the sections within the Department of Blood and Cancer Diseases. Our equipment consists of four linear accelerators, a CT scanner, an MR scanner and MR-linac, as well as two HDR afterloaders, along with units for booking and dose planning. Radiotherapy methods are constantly evolving, making the department a very exciting and stimulating workplace with opportunities for competence development both within and outside the unit.
Your Role
We offer developing work within radiotherapy where oncological nursing and high-tech care form the basis of the nurse's tasks. Working with us requires close multidisciplinary collaboration with doctors, assistant nurses, hospital physicists, and engineers. We are now looking for staff who can work in the treatment rooms but also rotate through our different sections such as dose planning, brachytherapy, CT, MR, and MR-linac (MR-guided radiotherapy).
Your Qualifications
- Licensed nurse or radiographer.
- Experience in radiotherapy is meritorious.
Your Competence
We are looking for you who can and want to contribute your knowledge and experience to our work group. You have good teamwork skills and can organize and prioritize your tasks in a workplace with varying work pace. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
We Offer
Radiotherapy is part of the government's cancer initiative, which means that the operations will undergo major development phases, meaning that you as an employee have great opportunities for development.
