Main Responsibilities

Below you can see what it means to be the department manager for our meat department, which is the heart of the store:

  • As the department manager, you will take significant responsibility for ensuring that our customers can easily find what they are looking for.
  • Work with cutting fresh Swedish meat, cut in-store.
  • Daily contact with suppliers.
  • Together with your colleagues, you will focus on positive customer interaction, sales, and ensuring we maintain the highest quality. You will become an important part of the chain leading to an inspiring shopping experience.

Job Information

Employment Type: Permanent position, 37 hours per week, probationary period applies.

Start Date: 2026-08-03 or as agreed.

Working Hours: You will vary between early mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends.

What We Expect

Being interested in food and enjoying working with customers and sales is a prerequisite for the role. Below you can see what else is expected of you as a department manager at Hemköp:

  • You should be good at working in a team, be meticulous, and quality-conscious. Additionally, you should enjoy a fast pace.
  • Together with your colleagues, you will manage the daily operations of the store. This means, for example, that you are service- and sales-oriented, but also have an eye for both details and the big picture.

As an applicant, you are passionate about food and sales. With reference to the Working Environment Act (Chapter 5) and the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations AFS 2023:2 Chapter 8 and Appendix 2, we do not hire persons under 18 years of age due to the nature of the tasks.
