Our client, Prefab i Norden, is now looking for an operational junior cost engineer with a technical background! Through close collaboration with a senior colleague and colleagues from other departments, you will become a key person in delivering precise offer and tender documents for B2B projects, contributing directly to the company's success and growth.
About the role
As a cost engineer, you will be a central part of creating precise offers and calculations unique to each project, as well as tender documents. You will collaborate closely with design, production, and sales to ensure that customer drawings and technical descriptions are converted into successful business deals, where both speed and accuracy are of the utmost importance. You report directly to the CEO and collaborate with a senior colleague.
The assignment starts as a consultancy role through us, with the ambition to transition into an employment with the client after a period of collaboration.
Responsibilities
In this role, you are responsible for quickly and accurately converting customer inquiries into business calculations, with an understanding of what is practically feasible within the operations. In a fast-paced environment, you act as the bridge between sales and production, ensuring that our projects are not only sold but also profitable in the end.
- Prepare material and production cost calculations and create complete offer documents and delivery descriptions for the sales organization.
- Take quantities from drawing documentation and ensure that the calculation aligns with internal production prerequisites and technical requirements.
- Handle LST (Labor, Supply, and Transport) calculations and price adjustments, and actively participate in tender reviews to ensure project quality and results.
- Ensure the delivery of calculations according to schedule, which requires the ability to prioritize correctly.
We are looking for someone who
- Has 1–3 years of work experience in cost calculations within timber house production.
- Has a technical post-secondary education.
- Has previous experience in tendering work.
- Has good knowledge of Wikells and good familiarity with working in Bluebeam.
- Has the ability to prioritize and deliver by deadlines.
- Has good Swedish language skills (spoken and written).
It is an advantage if you have
- Background in B2B projects.
- System familiarity within business systems (ERP).
- Knowledge of Revit, with a focus on efficient quantity takeoff.
