At Östersund Municipality, we are currently looking for a substitute to fill the position of Quality Engineer for the Network Unit within the Waste and Water & Wastewater (VA) sector, where the current employee is on parental leave.

Duration of the Position
The substitute position runs from August 1, 2026, to February 1, 2027.

Your Role
You will join a team of two Quality Engineers at the Network Unit, responsible for drinking water and wastewater. Together with other quality engineers in the sector, you will collaborate closely to ensure high standards. The role involves extensive contact with internal departments within the municipality, external authorities, and customers. As the Quality Engineer for the Network Unit, you play a crucial role in ensuring quality within our VA services.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for:
  • Communication with authorities, for example during supervision visits.
  • Managing our control programs and ensuring that necessary reporting is produced and submitted on time.
  • Conducting follow-ups and investigations related to quality deviations, upstream work, and complaints, as well as responding to official inquiries.
• You support the operational staff with:
  • Sampling and handling of disruptions.
  • Planning, developing routines, and project work to monitor and improve quality issues.

Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a university degree in microbiology and/or chemistry, or equivalent competence. Experience in quality work within VA, food, or licensed operations is preferred.

You are solution-oriented, flexible, and have strong collaboration skills. You are detail-oriented, structured, proactive, and quality-conscious. You have the ability to synthesize complex information, drive tasks to completion, and collect, analyze, and compile data.

Since the position involves many internal and external contacts, it is important that you enjoy building relationships and collaborating with others.

Requirements
A valid B-class driver's license is required. The position is partly security-classified, which means a security check and register control may be conducted prior to employment, in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
