Your new job

As a Service Technician specializing in civil preparedness, you work with the service, maintenance, and development of equipment and functions that strengthen the municipality's preparedness and continuity capabilities. The role combines practical work in the field with planning, documentation, and the development of methods and routines.

You work closely with the municipality's operations, suppliers, authorities, and other partners. Together with a colleague, you are responsible for key functions within service, preparedness, and continuity work, contributing to ensuring the municipality is well-equipped for both daily life and crises.

The position is based at the municipality's facilities within Jönköping and is largely carried out on-site at our various operations and facilities. The role is mobile, meaning you work independently in the field using service vehicles and technical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of backup power and other equipment related to civil preparedness and continuity work
• Installation, functional testing, and practical handling of equipment and materials
• Inventories, stock management, documentation, and follow-up of completed work
• Participation in exercises, training, and incidents where you contribute technical expertise and support
• Development of methods, routines, and technical solutions within the operational area
• Collaboration with the municipality's operations, suppliers, authorities, and other external actors
• Support in budgeting, planning, and follow-up work, as well as other tasks within the operational area

Your qualifications

Requirements

• Upper secondary education with a technical focus or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Experience in service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of technical equipment, machinery, or vehicles
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and technical systems as well as preventive maintenance
• Experience in independently planning, prioritizing, executing, and documenting tasks
• Good computer skills and experience working in digital systems for documentation and follow-up
• Good teamwork skills and experience interacting with various internal and external actors
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Class B and C driver's licenses
• Good physical fitness, as the work involves lifting and handling equipment

Merits

• Electrical certification is highly meritorious for the position
• CE driver's license
• Post-secondary education in technology or civil preparedness
• Training in crisis preparedness, total defense, or civil protection
• Experience working in preparedness, continuity work, or other vital societal functions

Good to know

The recruitment is for a permanent position at 100%, starting as agreed. To facilitate the recruitment process, please attach relevant certificates and transcripts to your application. Interviews are planned for after the application deadline, in week 34.

Preparedness work may be included, and the position may be subject to security clearance according to the Security Protection Act. Unconventional working hours may occur in connection with exercises, training, societal disruptions, and other extraordinary events. Work outside regular hours may occur during acute operational disruptions or when the operation's needs require it. Travel within the municipality and to other locations may be part of the role.

Since the tasks involve exposure to vibration, you will be called for a medical examination related to vibration work.
