Rescue Services Karlstadsregionen works to ensure that people living and visiting the member municipalities of Forshaga, Grums, Hammarö, Karlstad, Kil, and Munkfors feel safe and secure. We achieve this by preventing and managing accidents and crises. Our vision is a safe and secure society. Our operational goals are fewer accidents, reduced injuries, and increased sense of security. Our operations are guided by our core values: professionalism, respect, learning, and courage.
The advertised position is organized under the Rescue Services Department, which carries out rescue operations as mandated by the Act on Protection against Accidents (LSO). The department has a full-time strength in Karlstad and units with part-time firefighters, or Rescue Service Personnel on Call (RIB), in Deje, Forshaga, Grums, Hammarö, Kil, Molkom, Munkfors, Vålberg, and Väse. Additionally, there is a combined RIB station/rescue post in Högboda and a rescue post in Värmskog.
We actively work for an equal and inclusive rescue service and therefore encourage everyone to apply, regardless of gender or ethnic background. A diverse staff creates room for new perspectives, develops work efforts, and contributes to a good working environment.
Description
Are you a strategic networker who gets things done and wants to make a real difference for the total defense? We are looking for a coordinator who wants to lead and develop the work to strengthen the rescue service's capability during heightened readiness (RUHB) in Rescue Services Karlstadsregionen, together with the county's other rescue services and Rescue Region Bergslagen.
You will become part of an engaged team in the Rescue Services Department while reporting directly to the rescue chiefs in Värmland. You are expected to represent the rescue service in national contexts, under the guidance of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MCF), where collaboration with various actors and colleagues within Rescue Region Bergslagen is a prerequisite for success.
Responsibilities
Sweden's civil defense is being strengthened on all fronts, and the municipal rescue service is one of the central actors. As a coordinator with us, you will have a unique and significant role where you drive the development of Värmland's rescue services' capabilities during heightened readiness.
You will have a rare opportunity to be one of the actors who together plan and connect the readiness planning in Rescue Region Bergslagen. The work includes, among other things:
- Support and coordinate – You help Värmland's rescue service organizations to plan and prepare to operate during heightened readiness and, in the ultimate case, war.
- Build networks – You maintain and create collaborations to solve the assignment. This includes, among others, the County Administrative Board, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, other emergency services, and voluntary defense organizations.
- Strategic development – Adapt the rescue service's organization, leadership, and resources for heightened readiness to ensure that socially vital functions function even during crisis or war.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are driven by creating structure in complex issues and who see collaboration as the key to success. In addition, we see that you have a relevant academic education or other education and experience that we assess as equivalent.
To be able to contribute fully, we see that you have good knowledge of how the rescue service works, experience in leading projects, and are accustomed to communicating with different actors and stakeholders.
Depending on previous experience, education, and suitability, there is an opportunity to apply for operational command roles within Rescue Region Bergslagen as a complement to the position.
We place great importance on your personal suitability as we are looking for an unpretentious person who takes initiative and thrives in a varied role.
The position is placed in a security class, which means that a security investigation will be conducted before employment.
