Postdoctoral Researcher in Microfossil Image Recognition and Machine Learning
The Swedish Museum of Natural History is Sweden's largest museum and a leading research institution where curiosity meets science. As a government agency, we increase knowledge and interest in nature and the world we live in through research, unique collections, and experiences such as Cosmonova, exhibitions, museum activities, and digital initiatives. Together, we create insight, engagement, and action for a thriving planet.
At the Department of Paleobiology (PAL) at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, we are a team of approximately 15 employees working on scientific questions concerning animal and plant fossils, evolution, and diversity. We manage the collections upon which our investigations are based and which result in new insights. We study which species exist in the geological archive, how they are related to each other, and how they have been affected by environmental changes throughout Earth's history. We are the ones who discover and describe new species and assign them their scientific names.
