RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to be part of a dynamic and innovative operational area? Are you motivated by leading and motivating others? Great, then we might be looking for you as a Senior Social Worker (1st Social Secretary).

We currently have a need for an additional Senior Social Worker at the Child Investigation Unit.

The Child Investigation Unit consists of a unit manager, two administrators, 22 social workers, three specialist case handlers, and four Senior Social Workers. The unit works with the target group of children aged 0–12 years and their families. The unit's mandate includes investigating children's need for protection and/or support according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU), as well as making preliminary assessments in ongoing cases. The mandate also includes following up on decided interventions.

The Investigation Unit is divided into teams led by a Senior Social Worker. In the teams, we have in-depth discussions, knowledge of each other's cases, and close supervision, which increases legal security in case handling. We are now looking for an additional Senior Social Worker who will function as a team leader.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Acting as team leader and providing close supervision.
  • Delegating tasks and providing advice, support, and conditions for colleagues' development.
  • Working to ensure competence and quality assurance of the operations.
  • Serving as deputy unit manager.
  • Being responsible for case reviews and case distribution.
  • Providing support and guidance in complex cases.
  • Working closely with the unit manager and other Senior Social Workers, participating in the unit's management group.
  • As a Senior Social Worker, you generally do not handle your own cases.
  • External supervision takes place within the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in Social Work (210 ECTS), or equivalent in the older system.
  • A B driving license and driving experience.
  • Experience in public authority administration for the relevant target group, children aged 0–12 years and their families.

Previous experience in leadership is considered an advantage.

You need to have a good ability to create and maintain trusting relationships, both with those we meet and with the work group and other collaboration partners. To handle the different situations that may arise at work, you also need to be flexible, solution-focused, and enjoy collaborating across operational boundaries with the client's needs in focus. You are a confident person and feel comfortable making independent decisions based on current legislation, while at the same time being sensitive to the work group's need for support and development. Therefore, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A certificate of conduct (extract from the police register) is required for this position. This will only be requested from the final candidate in the last step of the recruitment process.
