We are now looking for a care assistant to join our team. Are you interested in working on a ward within general psychiatry at the highest level of care, where the focus is on developing patient-safe care and working in a team together with care assistants, nurses, doctors, and social workers? Then apply to us. We place great emphasis on development work on the ward. The goal is to have a good working environment, high patient safety, and patient satisfaction. There will be opportunities for personal development within psychiatry.

Ward 3 is a general psychiatric ward with ten care beds, four of which are acute care beds for patients with particularly high care needs. Six care beds are general psychiatric beds. The patient group includes patients with psychosis, mania, depression, as well as patients with eating disorder issues. We often collaborate with the eating disorder unit and the brain stimulation unit in connection with treatments. We have just begun development work with Safewards on the ward.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities include psychiatric nursing and patient work. This involves contact with relatives, supportive conversations, and motivational interviewing. You will participate as the contact person for the day during doctor's visits, serve meals during the day, participate in various activities for patients, and engage in development work. You will perform standard care assistant/nursing assistant tasks, which may include taking blood samples and measuring vital parameters. You will support nurses in various tasks and collaborate in a team with nurses and doctors.

Qualifications

We welcome you if you are a trained care assistant/nursing assistant, preferably with a focus on psychiatry according to the previous program structure, or are trained as a nursing assistant within the current program structure. To assess employability, grades from your healthcare education and proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) of a protected professional title must be attached to your application.

You have good self-awareness and are a confident person. You enjoy developing yourself and working together in a team, developing the work group, and have a strong patient focus and a genuine interest in psychiatry. You should also be responsive and flexible. We will teach you what you don't know – together we create an attractive workplace. Experience in psychiatry is meritorious but not decisive. We place great importance on personal qualities.

Application

The application should include a CV, a cover letter, and grades from completed healthcare courses, as well as possibly proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare of a protected professional title. Other certificates, grades, diplomas, etc., should be provided at a potential interview.
