The Orthopedic Department in Skellefteå has 16 care beds and provides both planned and emergency services year-round. We treat patients of all ages, from 18 years and up, and work in interprofessional teams where nursing care and medical treatment interact around the patient. The high patient flow means a variation in both tasks and care duration – from short interventions to longer care processes.

We are a pleasant work group with an open and inclusive climate where we care for each other. In close collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, assistant nurses, and nurses, we create a safe and developing work environment. We work structured with clear routines that support daily life, while also leaving room for innovation and development. Here, you have the opportunity to make your own decisions and grow both in your professional role and as a person.

We are now looking for nurses for permanent positions and longer temporary assignments. Here, we offer working hours according to a preference schedule with rotational duty. You will receive a structured introduction adapted to your experience to give you the best possible start with us. After the introduction, you will be assigned a mentor to support your continued development.

You also have the opportunity to participate in our internal orthopedic training, the clinic's continuing education courses, and the introductory year for newly graduated nurses.

Job Description

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel safe.

You work closely with the patient, and your work includes identifying risks, assessing, addressing, and evaluating the patient's various care needs. We work in fast care chains where mobilization and return to previous life are pursued quickly after surgery. As a nurse with us, you perform nursing tasks for an emergency care department, such as medication management, medical technical equipment, patient and next-of-kin conversations, and planning.

On the department, you will have the opportunity to learn a great deal within orthopedics with trauma care, fracture surgery, and taking care of acute illnesses. Here, we treat a large variety of patients where we treat more than just the fracture. This means that as a nurse, you get an incredible breadth regarding all types of care and diseases.

Here, it is your and your colleagues' knowledge and commitment that create the conditions for good nursing with the Patient in the center.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a curious and engaged colleague, who contributes with knowledge and joy. You feel responsible for the patient's well-being and the continued development of the operations.

You are a licensed nurse with an interest in Orthopedics and emergency care. You look forward to a large variation of patients, a breadth of tasks, and varying intensity. You enjoy collaborating with different people in different professional categories and actively contribute to a good work environment through your knowledge and expertise.
