Chef at Memurubu Mountain Hut – Summer Season 2026

Do you want to work as a chef in the heart of Jotunheimen?

We are now looking for an experienced chef for the summer season 2026 at Memurubu Mountain Hut – one of the most well-known mountain huts in Jotunheimen. Here you have the opportunity to combine cooking with fantastic nature experiences, with mountain hiking and spectacular views right outside your door.

Season: June 19 – September 14, 2026

Scope: Full-time (100%)

Working hours: Day and evening shifts, every day according to schedule

Accommodation and meals: Board and lodging included on-site

About the position

As a chef with us, you will be an important part of the kitchen team and responsible for providing our guests with a great dining experience during their stay in the mountains.

Responsibilities

• Preparing 3-course dinners for guests and staff
• Planning and preparing meals
• Ordering supplies and inventory management
• Working according to current food hygiene and HACCP routines
• Contributing to a well-functioning kitchen and good working environment
• Preparing slightly more exclusive meals during weekends

The menu consists mainly of traditional Norwegian home cooking with a focus on quality and good ingredients.

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience working as a chef
• Is confident in preparing classic sauces and masters various cooking techniques
• Is independent, responsible, and structured
• Thrives in a fast-paced work environment
• Has a genuine interest in cooking and service
• Is positive and contributes to a good atmosphere in the team

About Memurubu Mountain Hut

Memurubu Mountain Hut is located by Lake Gjende in Jotunheimen, between Gjendesheim and Gjendebu, with the well-known hiking trails Besseggen and Bukkelægret nearby. The facility is beautifully situated at the outlet of the Muru river and is today one of the most modern mountain huts in Jotunheimen.

Memurubu has a total of 150 beds distributed across rooms and dormitories of various sizes, where most rooms have their own bathroom with shower and toilet.
