Randstad is currently seeking driven Procurement Specialists for upcoming consulting assignments as Prototype Buyers for one of our leading automotive clients in Gothenburg.

Responsibilities

As a Prototype Buyer, you have overall responsibility for tendering and purchasing test and prototype materials for pre-series and product builds. You own the commercial interface with external suppliers as well as internal production units within the group.

The role involves daily contact with project teams and designers to ensure that materials are delivered on time, at the right cost, and with the right quality. You will become a key person ensuring that projects can maintain their schedules.

Your main tasks:

• Strategic & operational sourcing: Tender for test materials and prototype components from both external suppliers and internal production units.
• Delivery monitoring: Proactively follow up on orders, update delivery confirmations, and quickly inform key stakeholders of any deviations.
• Logistics & transport: Coordinate and book transport as needed.
• Supplier development: Monitor delivery precision and create action plans for underperforming suppliers.

Qualifications

• A relevant university degree or other higher education.
• Experience in procurement work.
• Basic technical understanding and the ability to interpret drawings and understand technical terminology.
• A business-minded and cost-conscious way of thinking.
• Very good communication skills and a structured work approach.
• Fluent English skills, as you will work in a global environment.
