Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Here, something is always happening – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
Our Operations
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) department is a cutting-edge section. Here, we meet children and adolescents up to 18 years of age, as well as their families. We work based on evidence-based methods and standardized care processes, placing great emphasis on high-quality care and care development. The department also conducts extensive research in close collaboration with the clinics.
We now need to expand our capacity to see patients and reduce waiting times, which is why we are looking for a new psychologist for one of our treatment clinics. At the clinic, psychologists, doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, dietitians, and social workers work together. To ensure that patients receive good care and treatment, we collaborate in interprofessional teams. We conduct targeted improvement work in our care and actively work to improve and develop the staff's working environment. The employees at the clinic are open, positive, competent, and ambitious, making it easy to join as a new employee.
Your Role
Being a psychologist at Akademiska Sjukhuset is an exciting job where you will meet people in many different situations. You will also become part of a skilled team that supports and helps each other while you work independently. Here, you can expect varied work with challenging tasks.
The work as a psychologist involves treating children, adolescents, and their families individually together with the rest of the team, but we also have an extensive group activity that you can participate in. Continuous collaboration with parents and neighboring care providers is a natural part of the work. The work also includes collaboration with other CAP units, schools, and social services.
Your Qualifications
You must be a licensed psychologist with experience working with children and young people, preferably from CAP. You enjoy working in interprofessional teams and want to contribute to the positive development of the clinic's work and routines.
Your Competence
You always put the patient first and are responsible, motivated, and goal-oriented in your work. With a structured and self-initiated working style, you take responsibility for your tasks and drive your processes forward with a focus on results. You are not only a skilled psychologist but also an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good working environment through attentive and constructive collaboration. You are confident in yourself, have good self-insight, and the ability to distinguish between the personal and the professional. If you combine this with curiosity and thoroughness, you may be the right person for us.
What We Offer
We offer a fixed-term position from August 31, 2026, to August 29, 2027. As a new employee, you will receive a mentor. We are located in newly renovated premises in the center of Uppsala. The work is scheduled during daytime on weekdays. You work in a team with wonderful colleagues.
