Sundsvall District Court is a medium-sized court that shares management and premises with the Rent and Tenancy Tribunal in Sundsvall and the Legal Aid Authority. In total, we have around 50 employees.

About the role

As a security guard, you work to create safety in the court's premises for both visitors and staff. This involves a range of important and developmental tasks that contribute to a safe and secure environment. In addition to basic security work, it also includes internal service with technical support and caretaker duties, as well as some administrative tasks. You will work together with 3–4 other security guards.

Scheduled weekend on-call duty is included, as well as some overtime work as hearings sometimes continue after regular working hours.

Main responsibilities

As a security guard, you are responsible for:

  • Order and safety in the court's premises
  • Staffing the security check at the entrance. The security check includes X-ray equipment.
  • Staffing the reception
  • Ensuring that court visitors are treated well, receive information, and good service
  • Responsibility for alarms, access systems, and visitor routines
  • Technical support in connection with hearings or meetings
  • Security training for new employees
  • Issuance of public documents
  • Other internal services such as handling daily mail, local supervision, and technical issues

About you

In the role of security guard, you work to ensure a safe and well-functioning court environment. The work requires good cooperation and communication skills, where you treat people with sensitivity and professionalism. As a person, you are stable and have a high degree of personal maturity. You remain calm and controlled even in pressured situations and have the ability to focus on the right things.

Your flexibility allows you to easily adapt to changes and see opportunities even in new circumstances. You are ready to step in where needed. Your good judgment and determination allow you to quickly make well-founded decisions, even under time pressure.

Great importance is attached to your personal qualities.

Requirements

  • Completed and approved upper secondary education
  • Valid security guard appointment (ordningsvaktsförordnande)
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
  • Good computer skills and basic technical competence
  • Good color vision

Merits

  • Knowledge of working with security technology such as alarm systems and CCTV
  • Good knowledge of English

Practical information

The employment is a fixed-term employment until December 31, 2026, with a possible possibility of extension. Access is as soon as possible.
