At BAE Systems Hägglunds, you are offered a unique opportunity in a new role as an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer within Prototyp & Skrov. You will drive development forward by translating legal requirements and goals into concrete, sustainable working methods – while contributing to a safe, efficient, and innovative workplace.
Your Future Challenge
As an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer on the production technology department, you will play a central role in building and developing occupational health and safety work from the ground up. Within our section, we build the chassis that later become finished vehicles, handling all processes with high-tech machinery including cutting, bending, robotic welding, machining, and inspection in-house.
Here, you will have the opportunity to work at the heart of a business where advanced technology meets high demands for safety, quality, and development. The role means you will become a key person in the ongoing occupational health and safety work, with the task of translating legal requirements, standards, and internal goals into functioning and sustainable working methods in daily operations.
As an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer, you work closely with managers, the safety organization, and employees in production and technology. You identify risks and areas for improvement, and drive development initiatives across the entire occupational health and safety field – from systematic approaches to practical solutions on the shop floor.
The focus is particularly on:
- OHS work in production and technical environments
- Safety during lifting, ergonomics, and fall protection
- Risk assessments and improvement work in collaboration with operations
- Implementation and follow-up of requirements from legislation and internal standards
- Support in handling technical equipment, such as pneumatic tools
- Development of local working methods related to OHS and safety
- Cross-functional work across the entire Operations area, including assembly and external production.
You will be a driving force in ensuring that occupational health and safety work is not just present in systems and documents – but works in practice.
Who You Are
We believe you have a university degree in, for example, engineering, occupational health and safety, or a related field, along with experience from industry or larger technical organizations. You have good knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and regulations, particularly from the Swedish Work Environment Authority (Arbetsmiljöverket) and AFS. Furthermore, you have experience with quality systems and structured improvement work, and you have the ability to translate regulations and directives into practical solutions in operations. We also see that you have strong communication skills and are accustomed to working closely with both production and management.
You have very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
What You Will Be Part Of
Here, you will have fun at work, and no day will be like the other. You will have a broad role with many interfaces and great opportunities. You will work with technology and problem-solving, and you will have good opportunities for competence and career development.
