Do you want to work at the intersection where legislation and management systems meet practice, where technical innovation and production are transformed into long-term sustainable operations for people and the working environment? Then we may be looking for you for the position of Working Environment Coordinator in our Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) department.
About the role
BAE Systems Hägglunds in Örnsköldsvik is in an expansion phase due to billion-dollar contracts. To meet the high demand, BAE Systems Hägglunds is recruiting additional staff to the SHE department.
Today, the department consists of a manager and seven employees responsible for ensuring that operations meet requirements from occupational health and safety and environmental legislation, as well as international standards. We actively work on developing our processes, driving improvement initiatives, and supporting the organization's managers and leaders within the SHE area.
We are certified according to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, where the SHE department is responsible for ensuring compliance with the standards' requirements through audits, process development, and training.
In this role, you will become a key person within the working environment area, with broad and varied responsibilities and the opportunity to influence and develop operations. Among other things, you will:
- Drive, plan, and follow up on the working environment group's work, ensuring clear and high-quality reporting.
- Be responsible for developing, implementing, and following up on our management system according to ISO 45001, with a focus on compliance and continuous improvement.
- Actively lead and contribute to meetings within the SHE organization and serve as a key advisor on working environment issues.
- Monitor and interpret new occupational health and safety legislation, ensuring the organization has the right knowledge by conducting training for various target groups.
- Plan and participate in external audits and independently conduct internal audits.
- Participate in and follow up on risk assessments, with a special focus on change projects and construction projects, and develop the work in our risk management tools.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring that lessons learned are implemented in improved working methods.
- Plan, follow up on, and quality-assure technical measurements and related reporting.
About you
We are looking for you who have a university or college education with a focus on working environment or equivalent, with good knowledge of legislation and standards. You should have at least 5 years of experience working in manufacturing industry. Experience working in a workshop or on construction projects is an advantage, as is experience with environmental legislation in a workshop environment.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have a genuine interest in working environment issues and are driven by developing both operations and working methods. You express yourself comfortably in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, as you will collaborate both locally and internationally within the group.
As a person, you are responsible, structured, and self-initiating. You collaborate easily, communicate well, and build trust within the organization. At the same time, you are clear, goal-oriented, and confident in driving issues forward with integrity and engagement.
What you will be part of
Here, you will have fun at work, and no day will be like the other! You will be involved when the product is created, from idea to when it rolls out to the customer. You will work with future technology in a global company where you have great opportunities for competence and career development.
