Your Role

As a Mechanic at Saab Kockums Muskö, your primary responsibilities will focus on the service, maintenance, and repair of mechanical installations on the Navy's surface ships. The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining vessels with a high level of technical complexity. The work is varied and offers excellent opportunities to develop your craft and professional knowledge.

Examples of work areas include:

• Hydraulics
• Valve and pump maintenance
• Shafting
• Rudder assembly
• Pressure testing

The work is performed both onboard ships and in the workshop. Domestic travel may occur.

Your Profile

To apply for this role, you need:

• Upper secondary education in workshop technology or equivalent
• Category B driver's license
• Good computer skills

The work requires you to be able to communicate verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

• Material processing including drilling, turning, and milling
• Tapping and flange connections
• Metrology and laser alignment of machine setups
• Work with pumps and valves
• Drive trains of heavier industrial type
• Hydraulic systems
• Work with cranes, forklifts, and mobile platforms
• Heavy lifting operations, e.g., winches

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
