The assistive device operations in the southern part of Stockholm County and the county-wide operations are responsible for the operation of assistive devices for people with mobility impairments, as well as county-wide responsibility for individuals in need of consumable assistive devices, home medical technology equipment, and communication, cognitive, visual, and hearing aids.
Assistive Devices Stockholm supplies the southern part of the county with technical assistive devices. We make a difference every day for everyone with a functional variation, enabling an active and independent life through our efforts.
At the Technical Service unit, we work with the maintenance of technical assistive devices for people with disabilities. We are now expanding our unit that works with reconditioning and are looking for you who have a technical interest and passion for sustainability and reuse.
You will become one of seven technicians working with the reconditioning of returned assistive devices, meaning the restoration of returned devices so they can be issued to a new patient.
The assistive devices you will primarily work with initially are electric wheelchairs and electric drive units for manual wheelchairs.

Main responsibilities include:
- Washing and reconditioning
- Restoration, repair, and disposal
- Preventive maintenance and modification/upgrading during reconditioning, where applicable
- Planning and preparation of internal reconditioning
- Providing technical expertise from a reconditioning perspective in various cross-functional groups within the operation
Desired qualifications:
- At least a 2-year upper secondary education with a technical focus
- Experience working with technology, for example, service, automotive electricity, mechanics, or in equivalent areas that we assess as comparable
- You are equally comfortable with the computer in your work as you are with your tools
- Knowledge of the Office package is required as we work in Word and Excel
- Swedish at level C1 and knowledge of English, as many manuals are in English
- Category B driver's license is a requirement

The position involves daily work tasks that can be physically demanding, so it is a prerequisite that you have good physical fitness.
The position is filled subject to the condition that it does not need to be taken for internal reassignment, according to current regulations.
In patient-related work within the Stockholm County Council Healthcare Services (SLSO):
- A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new hire examination according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.
- In addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirement is guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
