Do you want to become a key part of the energy transition? Vattenfall Services is Sweden's leading contracting company within the energy and electricity sector, and we are developing Sweden's energy infrastructure! At our company, you work in a future-oriented industry with a strong focus on a sustainable future. We need more energy heroes, and we are now looking for a Commissioning Manager for major station projects who wants to join the journey! Is that you? Together we make a difference, for the entire society.
As a Commissioning Manager, you will become part of the Project unit. The project operations are responsible for driving our larger station projects from bidding to a ready-to-operate facility. We are established in several locations and drive projects throughout the country. Our customers are primarily the larger grid owners, and the projects cover all voltage levels from 10 kV up to 400 kV. In the projects, we work with the latest technology from several of the leading suppliers in the industry, providing an interesting and educational daily routine.

The role primarily involves working with the commissioning of our larger projects, though assignments within smaller projects and maintenance may also occur. The testing prior to commissioning includes all types of control equipment such as relay protection, RTUs, automation systems, local power supplies, and more. The focus will be on larger station projects at voltage levels 130 kV and 400 kV. The role includes being responsible for and coordinating the testing when several engineers are working on the same project. Within the framework of the projects, you report to the Project Manager. You hold the technical responsibility, while the Project Manager holds the commercial responsibility.
The role involves extensive travel within Sweden. Both day trips and longer trips occur.
Examples of tasks/responsibilities included:
- Ensure technical function and contract compliance
- Support the project with technical questions throughout the project lifecycle
- Review drawing documentation such as single-line diagrams, relay block diagrams, circuit diagrams, etc.
- Configuration of relay protection, including configuration of communication via e.g., IEC61850
- Preparation of test plans
- Coordination of testing work when several engineers are on site
- Compilation of test reports
- Responsible for communication regarding technical issues towards the Project Manager
- Mentor junior employees
Requirements
We are looking for you who are analytical and enjoy solving complex problems. Nothing is impossible for you! You are well-versed in the field and eager to share your knowledge with your colleagues. Taking on a task and seeing it through to completion together with the project group is second nature to you.
We know you will develop together with us. However, we would like you to already have:
- Experience with commissioning control systems for substations or hydropower stations
- Experience with relay protection configuration
- Competence regarding communication via IEC61850
- A post-secondary electrical engineering education or equivalent work experience within electrical power
- Good IT and computer skills
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
