Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters, working long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will play a crucial role in the future – what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.
Your Role
The Renström mine is entering an exciting phase of development with a focus on large-scale mining. We are now looking for two rock drill operators who want to contribute to the sustainable mining of the future.
As a rock drill operator in Renström, you will become part of an engaged shift team working underground with a modern fleet of machinery. Together, we mine ore and waste rock, and you will be part of a team where the focus is primarily on cut-and-fill mining and slot mining.
Your Team
You will join a shift team and work in close collaboration with colleagues in production, rock transport, mine construction, electrical, and mechanical departments – both internally and externally. Together, we always prioritize safety and actively work towards a sustainable and secure working environment.
We work on a 7–7 shift pattern, Tuesday to Monday in odd-numbered weeks, with alternating morning and afternoon shifts.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform tasks related to large-scale underground mining
- Work with long-hole drilling, long-hole loading, remote loading, rock bolt installation, raise boring, as well as operating excavators and wheel loaders.
- Contribute to the development of safe and efficient working methods together with colleagues
- Ensure that work is carried out according to current quality requirements, routines, and safety regulations
- In certain periods, you will also work with standard development driving and its tasks within the cycle
Your Qualifications
- Upper secondary education
- Rock drill operator training or experience in rock drilling
- A few years of experience in large-scale mining
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
- A strong safety mindset and the ability to work both independently and in a team
- An inquisitive and development-oriented approach to work
